Marimba, vibraphone, and glockenspiel were joined by two instruments created by the group: the Aquarion \u2014 a glass marimba with an otherworldly quality when rolled \u2014 and the Galvitone \u2014 tuned steel pipes. The simple, yet detailed beauty of the sounds, some motoric, others melodic, was arresting\u2026 Bellor writes ravishingly and imaginatively for percussion, and Clocks in Motion have made her their resident composer. Three more quartets will come from her pen in the near future\u2026&#8221; &#8211; David Kulma, Clevelandclassical.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPendulum Surround,\u201d introduces the release with a radiant blend of marimbas, vibraphones, and glockenspiels. Timbral contrasts between them are, of course, pronounced, and adding to the presentation are melodic patterns produced by a glimmering, synthesizer-like instrument. \u201cQuartz Revolution\u201d is distinguished from the first movement by bowed vibraphone textures and a time-suspended, meditative ambiance that gradually morphs into a dreamy sequence sprinkled with tinkling glockenspiels. True to its title, the animated \u201cDance of Hands\u201d is enlivened by shakers, hand drums, and metronomic marimbas.&#8221; &#8211; Textura<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Of Maker &amp; Movement<\/em> is featured on the album <em>ONEIRA<\/em> released by Aerocade Music August 19, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Of Maker and Movement<\/em> was commissioned by Clocks in Motion as a part of the Clock Shop Residency. It was written for both traditional instruments and those created by Clocks in Motion, such as the galvitone. It was premiered at Muhlenberg College March 14, 2019, and performed again at Cleveland State University Fall 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flexible instrumentation<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">:<\/span> Any parts labeled &#8220;galvitone&#8221; can also be played on glockenspiel, or instrument with similar range.
