NEW ALBUM: RECORDING COMPLETED!

2025 was a special year for me primarily because of the wonderful collaborations. I am thrilled to share that after several months of work, I finished the mixes for my new album, CATCHING CLOUDS. This album comprises nine new works I composed/reworked for clarinet (Bryan Conger), alto sax (Shawna Pennock), vibraphone (James Doyle), and piano (me).

1. Effervescence (clarinet and vibraphone)
2. Cloudbreak (vibraphone and piano)
3. Serpentine Arroyo (clarinet, vibraphone, and piano)
4. Cirrus (piano improvisation)
5. Querencia (clarinet, vibraphone, and piano)
6. Cloudline (alto saxophone and bowed vibraphone)
7. Volutus (piano)
8. Drift into Midnight (clarinet, vibraphone, and piano)
9. Catching Clouds (clarinet, alto sax, vibraphone, and piano)

I’m extremely grateful to them for this collaboration. Chuck Foley from the UNLV Recording studio recorded and mixed this and Gil Kaupp is mastering the album. Still lots to do (!), but incredibly relieved to move on to the next stages and cannot wait to share videos in the future, along with updates about the album release. We also plan to perform the entire album live in concert.

Grateful to the Nevada Arts Council for support towards this recording project. 🎧🎶

NEW RELEASE: All Rivers at Once

New single! I’m thrilled to share the new music video and recording of my piece “All Rivers at Once” for clarinet and tenor saxophone. This was such a fun collaboration with Bryan Conger, Shawna Pennock, and Shahab Zargari. To get the binaural experience, listen with headphones! Many thanks to Bryan and Shawna for their fantastic playing, to Shahab for a beautiful video that he shot at Clark County Wetlands Park, to Gil Kaupp for mastering the track , and to Chuck Foley for recording and mixing at the UNLV Recording Studio.

The single is available on all digital platforms.

Jennifer Bellor, composer
Bryan Conger, clarinet
Shawna Pennock, tenor saxophone
Shot and edited by Shahab Zargari
Recording and mixing by Chuck Foley
Mastering by Gil Kaupp

“All Rivers at Once” is the title of a poem by the 13th century poet, Rumi. The following excerpt from the poem inspired the creation of this piece:

What is the body?
Endurance.
What is love?
Gratitude.
What is hidden in our chests?
Laughter.
What else?
Compassion.

– Rumi

Mostly Modern Festival Residency

Had a fantastic time at the Mostly Modern Festival as their resident composer! Worked with the composition fellows, gave a presentation on my music, and had a gorgeous performance of my piece Reviravoltas Sonoras by members of the American Modern Ensemble: Michael Jorgensen (violin), Matt Ward (vibraphone), and Dave Eggar (cello). It was also a wonderful experience working with festival composition colleagues Stephen Cabell and Rob Paterson.

Mostly Modern Festival – Composition Presentation

Music to be presented at my presentation (Tuesday, June 10 from 2 – 3:30PM)
